Construction, seemingly everywhere

It has been awhile since my last post here, but it is not because of lack of interest. If you’re a fan of our Facebook page or follow our Twitter page then you know that I’ve been active and didn’t disappear. However, my blogging has taken a temporary back seat while I construct a new website for the Living in Olympia online community. I figured that there is construction in process on pretty much every road in Olympia right now, so likely nobody would mind the little extra dust being kicked up by my little corner of cyberspace.

Our new website is finally nearing completion and will take a lot of the same features we have here and expand on them. Where we were limited by the features of a free wordpress.com account, we will now be free to add more functionality and features for our web visitors. I sought to enhance the web surfer’s experience by creating a very clean and minimalistic site that is rich in content but noticeably void of clutter. The site will initially release with the basic functionality and information we want to share, but over the coming months we will still be tweaking, enhancing, and adding even more to the site.

During these transitional months after the site is released, we encourage you to browse the site and let us know what’s missing, what looks good, and what we should do away with. Here is a teaser screenshot of the new look and feel of the site. We’ll announce when we’re officially releasing the site!
