Reason #15 to love Living in Olympia: Capital Food & Wine Festival

The Capital Food & Wine Festival is a great annual event and fundraiser put on by Saint Martins Alumni Association. The event highlights a collection of the finest local vintners, microbrewers, and restaurants. An all day event, there is constant entertainment on the 2 stages throughout the day.

Over 50 wineries and wine makers participated in this year’s event and 13 microbreweries. Here are the award winning wines from this year’s festival:

Best of Show: Hyatt Vineyards 2008 Riesling, Rattlesnake Hills

Best Red: Ash Hollow Estate Vineyards & Winery 2007 Legends Four Horseman Red Wine, Walla Walla Valley

Best White: Hyatt Vineyards 2008 Riesling, Rattlesnake Hills

Best Dessert: Horizon’s Edge Winery NV Wishful Thinking Port-style, Yakima Valley
